SPR # SBOR66ZNVJ | Fixed in 7.0.2 release | |

Product Area: IBM Lotus Domino Access for Microsoft Outlook Technical Area: Client Platform: Cross Platform
SPR# SBOR66ZNVJ - Last name, First name ordering can be obtained by adding the Notes.ini parameter ABSORT=0. There are still SPRs open that this parameter introduces. When these are closed, we will expose the feature through the UI.

Technote Number: 1198211

Problem:
DAMO does not display the server based Domino Directory as the Notes Client
does: Last Name, First Name. It instead displays the names in a First Name
Last Name order/format.
An enhancement request to include a Last Name, First Name sort feature in a
future release of DAMO has been submitted to Quality Engineering as SPR#
SBOR66ZNVJ. There are no current plans to address this request.
Please note that the following workaround is unsupported and not completely
tested.
By adding the ini setting "ABSORT=0" to the notes.ini file in the user's data
directory the sort order will be changed to LastName, FirstName.
Important things to note:
There are some places that you will still see the original display method (for
example, in the Inbox, Preferences tab, etc).
The ABSORT=0 parameter may inadvertently add the invitee's name to the
invitation a second time as an "Optional Attendee". This issue is currently
under investigation by Quality Engineering (SPR# MROE6KALXM).
To resolve names correctly, the "Allow comma as separator" option should be
disabled. Perform the following steps to access this option:
1. In Outlook, select Tools > Options.
2. On the Preferences tab, select E-mail Options, and then select Advanced
E-mail Options.
3. Clear the "Allow comma as address separator" checkbox in the "When sending a
message" section. More >
